We must give the question of the meaning of life a Copernican shift: life itself is what poses questions to man. He does not have to ask; rather, he is the one questioned by life, and he is the one who must respond to life – he must take responsibility for his life.

Viktor E. Frankl

psychotherapy

Literally translated from Ancient Greek, psychotherapy means ‘treatment of the soul’ or ‘service to the soul’.

existential analysis

Existential Analysis (EA) is a phenomenological-personal psychotherapy with the aim of helping individuals achieve free experiences, authentic responses, and responsible management of themselves and their world.

I support my clients with all questions of life. My target group includes not only adults but also children and adolescents from around the age of 12. I offer psychotherapy in German, English, and French.

So what is man? He is the being

that always decides what he is.

psychotherapy

According to the Psychotherapy Act in Austria, psychotherapy is the comprehensive, deliberate, and planned treatment of psychosocial or psychosomatically caused behavioral disorders and states of suffering, learned through general and specialized training. This treatment employs scientifically psychotherapeutic methods within an interaction between one or more patients and one or more psychotherapists, with the goal of alleviating or eliminating existing symptoms, changing disturbed behaviors and attitudes, and promoting the maturation, development, and health of the patient.

Psychotherapy is therefore a scientifically-based treatment method aimed at healing or alleviating mental suffering, helping in life crises, changing disturbed behaviors and attitudes, and fostering personal development and health.

Psychotherapy is an independent therapeutic method for treating psychological, psychosocial, and psychosomatic disorders and states of suffering. It stands on equal footing with other therapeutic methods, such as (medical) psychiatric or (clinical) psychological treatment.

Psychotherapy takes place within the relationship between the client and the psychotherapist. A successful relationship is also the key factor in the course of psychotherapy.

In addition, psychotherapy always opens up new levels of awareness, leading to personal growth, a successful dialogue, or, in other words, a deepened relationship with oneself, the world, life, and others.

the foundation of every therapy

The prerequisite for any psychotherapy is the client’s desire for change and the basic willingness to engage with their own feelings and experiences, and to be accompanied in this process.

Existential Analysis

Existential Analysis was founded by the Viennese psychiatrist and neurologist Viktor Emanuel Frankl in the 1930s and systematically expanded and methodologically developed by his student Alfried Längle within the framework of the Society for Logotherapy and Existential Analysis (GLE). It is recognized as an independent psychotherapeutic method by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Health.

EA is based on the foundations of existential philosophy (including Buber, Scheler, Jaspers, Kierkegaard, and Heidegger) and belongs to the humanistically oriented therapeutic schools.

At the center of EA is the concept of ‘existence’—understood as a meaningful life shaped by freedom and responsibility, which the person experiences as their own, and in which they experience themselves as co-creators.

The goal of existential-analytic psychotherapy is to accompany people towards a life of freedom and responsibility.

Existential-analytic psychotherapy is primarily talk therapy, supplemented with elements of bodywork when necessary.

My fundamental attitude as an existential analyst can be best expressed as: ‘I want to understand you, so that you can better understand yourself
